Publishing to Twitter from Facebook Pages

Many people have asked us to make Facebook and Twitter work better together for those times when they want to share their content as widely as possible. We agree. Over the next few days, we will be releasing a feature that allows administrators of Facebook Pages to publish their Facebook updates to their Twitter accounts automatically. This will only link Facebook Pages to Twitter, not your individual profile.

Public figures, musicians, businesses and organizations of all types who've created Facebook Pages often want to share a status update, a photo or an event with as many of their supporters as possible. Celebrities may want to share personal news or charities may want to put out calls for help to both their Facebook fans and their Twitter followers, all at the same time.

If you manage a Facebook Page, you now will be able to decide whether to share updates with their Twitter followers, and you also will be able to control what type of updates to share: status updates, links, photos, notes, events or all of them. If you have multiple Pages, you will have the option to link each of those Pages to different Twitter accounts. This new feature will soon be available at http://www.facebook.com/twitter.

A number of celebrities and organizations on Facebook are already using this feature to publish the content on their Facebook Page to Twitter and reach a wider audience. They include Dane Cook, LIVESTRONG, The World Wildlife Fund, and the NBA, WNBA and D-League.

We are always looking to make it easy for you to use Facebook with your favorite websites and applications. Facebook Connect allows you to bring your Facebook profile with you across the Web. We recently worked with Yahoo to integrate your Facebook experience into Yahoo's new homepage; we've built our own Firefox and iPhone applications in-house; and we built tools to help you bring your content from YouTube, Hulu and other sites into your Facebook profile.

Twitter was a natural next step to link with Facebook Pages because it is a powerful tool for broadcasting short messages widely.

I was able to build this new feature from start to finish as a summer engineering intern. Next month I'll head back to school, but I'm excited to see my work here live on through all of the people who now will both share on Facebook and tweet on Twitter right from their Facebook Pages.

As of today, Facebook now serves 300 million people across the world. It's a large number, but the way we think about this is that we're just getting started on our goal of connecting everyone.

Mengganti Username Facebook yang Sudah Dibuat Sebelumnya

Pihak Facebook akhirnya melunak. Pasalnya, setelah sebelumnya mengumumkan bahwapenggantian username hanya boleh dilakukan dalam sekali saja, tapi sekarang pihak Facebook membolehkan kita untuk mengganti username lagi jika kita sebelumnya sudah mengganti username.

Jadi misalkan dulu username kita sudah diganti dengan nama misalnya,www.facebook.com/imut, bisa kita ganti lagi menjadi www.facebook.com/nggakimut.

Bagaimana cara menggantinya? Yuk kita ikuti tutorial berikut ini.

1. Klik Settings > Account Settings.

2. Di bagian Username, klik Change.

3. Sekarang Anda tinggal mengetikkan username baru Anda.

Where do my apps go when I install them?

Any app you install on your BlackBerry smartphone (from BlackBerry App World or anywhere else) is installed in flash memory. Each BlackBerry smartphone has a different amount of flash memory � and this is what determines how many apps each device can have installed. With the new archiving feature, you can store the app on the microSD� card and restore it when you want to use it.

What will happen to our current applications?

All the apps you�ve downloaded and purchased from BlackBerry App World are currently stored in your �My World� account. After upgrading to BlackBerry App World 1.1, you can still archive the app � it will just be quickly downloaded again and then stored on your microSD� card.

How to Archive Applications on your BlackBerry:

In �My World�, you now have the new menu option �Archive�.

When clicked, BlackBerry App World will uninstall the application from the device memory and store it on the microSD� card.

Some apps require a reboot � some don�t � it all depends on the app.

The icon for the app will still appear where ever you have it (default on 4.5 and below is the home screen, on 4.6 it is the Downloads directory).

The icon will have a green arrow in the bottom corner indicating it�s been archived.

You can click on the icon and you�ll be prompted to see if you want to restore the app.

You can also restore from inside BlackBerry App World.

We're also launching BlackBerry App World today in Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Portugal. I tried to justify that my team needed to travel to each country for launch - but management didn't agree with that. No one can blame us for trying. I'm personally excited for Ireland - now all my cousins back home have another reason to love their BlackBerry smartphones.

How to delete your Facebook account ?

Apparently, the Facebook account deletion process is straightforward. All you need to do is simply, login to your Facebook account, then click Account and from the Deactivate section choose Deactivate.

That was easy, isn�t it? The only caveat is that Facebook won�t actually wipe out your account but just keep it inactive. Therefore if you want to permanently delete your account, you should manually do the following:

1. Delete your photo
2. Delete Comments and messages you wrote
3. Delete your friends from your friends list.
4. Leave all your networks and groups you have joined.
5. Delete all your photo albums.

If you want to reactivate your account, just login to Facebook with youremail and password. You�ll be then instructed on the procedure to follow in order to reactivate the account.

Menghapus Akun Facebook

Menghapus akun facebook secara permanen tidaklah mudah untuk dilakukan dalam waktu singkat seperti akun-akun situs social networking lainnya.

Ada beberapa proses yang harus Anda lakukan untuk menghapus akun facebook Anda. Caranya adalah sebagai berikut:

1. Hapus semua teman Anda di dalam daftar teman, hapus foto, komentar-komentar yang telah Anda berikan pada grup yang Anda ikuti.

2. Hapus semua informasi yang pernah Anda buat di halaman info.

3. Hapus semua tag foto.

4. Keluarlah keanggotaan dari berbagai grup yang pernah Anda ikuti.

5. Sekarang masuklah ke alamat berikut http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=delete_account kemudian lakukan submit dengan memasukkan nama akun dan password Anda.

6. Sekarang Anda tinggal menunggu konfirmasi dari admin Facebook, jika dalam 14 hari Anda tidak melakukan aktivitas lagi maka akun Anda akan dihapus secara permanen.

Menghapus Teman di Facebook

Facebook 1.6 is finally out! I've been waiting for this app for long time and I'm happy to say it was worth it. I'm so relieved they got over 1.5 and did something cool with their app like being able to write on the wall and getting it more integrated with the Blackberry environment. The strength of the Blackberry has always been their push technology, making a software that takes advantage of this is the right way to go.
Facebook 1.6 really feels solid and very stable on my Blackberry Bold and Curve. The notifications you get directly in your home screen is just great. New features like being able to see comments people made with your friends status updates is really handy and enables you to participate in the discussion faster that opening up facebook in your PC. Facebook 1.6 is a great addition to your phone, its around 800k but its worth the download.

Evernote which I consider as the best cross-platform notebook application in the world has finally arrived on the Blackberry. Through the years the developers of Evernote have rolled out some great changes in Evernote , making it more just about making notes. Its finally here! Blackberry just release Blackberry App World. You can now easily install applications or software straight from your Blackberry phone. This includes purchasing paid applications from your phone and some free ones. All payments are processed by Paypal, which I think is very smart since its easier to keep track of what you buy instead of being billed by your carrier in the end of the month.

Inside the app store you can write and read reviews of different applications. I love the section where you can see what applications you have purchased as well as see what you have installed. Overall the Blackberry App World is what I expected it to be, RIM did a great job on the UI ( User Interface ) making it simple for any Blackberry owner to use. In future devices Blackberry App World pre-installed.
But there's one big concern I have on the initial roll out of Blackberry App World, right now its only available to certain regions ( USA, Canada and UK ). I know a lot of people are waiting around the world get this ( Germany, Spain, Australia). I hope in the comming weeks we'll get some news whens its available worldwide.

I'm a big fan of Pandora for years. I was really excited I could finally install it on my Blackberry. If you haven't experience Pandora its an Internet radio streaming service thats recommends music similar to yout choices of songs or artist you have chossen. Through this system you can create your own stations with Pandora making the playlist. It also has a feedback button so you can improve its system of choosing songs. The whole concept of Pandora is so original there's no other service that comes close to it. Pandora has made my Internet radio listening a whole new experience.

Installing the software is fast and the sound quality is good. I love the fact you can use your wifi connection instead of your wireless carrier. Pandora for the Blackberry is quick, small and doen't seem to slow down my phone. It currently does not support the Storm but that should change soon.

New Facebook for Blackberry

There are four new features to the upgraded version of the application:

* Calendar Sync - This will update your handheld�s calendar with Facebook events.
* Contact Sync - This will sync your handheld�s contacts directly with Facebook�s. I�m a bit hesitant to try this feature out with thousands of contacts as friends.
* Direct Friend Dial - This is the ability to call friends directly from the Facebook application.
* Status Comments - While it has been available on the iPhone, the Blackberry version of the Facebook application didn�t previously have the ability to view status comments.

3. Qik Mobile

As I�ve reviewed before on MakeUseOf, Qik, which allows you to stream live video from your phone to the internet for free, has a great mobile application for Blackberry. With it, you can stream video online from your device for anyone to see, or limit access with a password. But as the service implies, your Blackberry must be a model with a camera for Qik to work. 4. Google Maps

Just like the popular online maps site, Google Maps offers a great Blackberry application which allows for most of the same features on their site, except again, its running on your phone. You can get directions, get maps in satellite view and watch traffic and see your location (which can work even if your Blackberry doesn�t have GPS, but works better if it does). 5. Palringo

If you like instant messaging, you�ll love Palringo. It is a mobile instant messaging client which supports AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk and more, all in one piece of software. You can also chat with other users of Palringo (on a desktop, Android, iPhone/iPod Touch, Windows Mobile or Symbian phone) via text chat, voice or pictures. Palringo�s voice capabilities make it a great almost push-to-talk (PTT) software and a great piece of software to talk to your friends online or on their mobile phones due to its wide compability. Viigo is a feature-rich application which lets you view news & RSS feeds, audio clips & podcasts, stocks & money data, weather and more. Viigo also bills their software as �the one app you�ll never want to be without� because of its wide range of features it makes available to you. 8. Blackberry Appworld

Made directly by Blackberry, Appworld allows you to browse through a wide variety of many other Blackberry apps and download and install them on the spot from the application. Many different developers contribute their applications to the library that�s available for download. 9. Facebook For Blackberry

We all know what Facebook is- the online utility which lets you share pictures, messages and online applications with friends. Well, now they have a handy Blackberry application which lets you do almost anything you can do on their desktop site, on your Blackberry. A really neat feature of this app is their recent update which allows you to automatically link Facebook profile pictures of your friends with their contact entry in your Blackberry�s address book. If you use Twitter and have a Blackberry, then Twitterberry is for you.
