Last month, we began testing new versions of Search with a small group of people on Facebook. Based on the success of those tests, we're rolling out a new version of Search to everyone on the site beginning today.

You now will be able to search the last 30 days of your News Feed for status updates, photos, links, videos and notes being shared by your friends and the Facebook Pages of which you're a fan. If people have chosen to make their content available to everyone, you also will be able to search for their status updates, links and notes, regardless of whether or not you are friends. Search results will continue to include people's profiles as well as relevant Facebook Pages, groups and applications.

To search for a particular term, just enter your query in the search box in the upper-right corner of any page. Once you're taken to the search results, use the filters on the left-hand side of the page to view only posts by friends or posts by everyone. If you're searching for a specific person, Page, group or application, you also can filter by those results.

By being able to search more types of content that are being shared on the site, you can easily find out your friends' evening plans and recently frequented restaurants by searching for "dinner," discover which of your friends are following Michael Schumacher's comeback during the "Formula 1" season by searching for the race series, or query "economy" to see if people or your favorite news sources feel that the recession is turning around. You also can search for a company or product to learn what people are saying about that brand.

Earlier today, I used Facebook Search to get the latest about our recent acquisition of FriendFeed, an innovative service for sharing online. When I enter "FriendFeed" in the "Search" field in the upper-right hand corner of any page on Facebook, I get the most recent status updates, reactions and news from my friends who work in technology and people who have chosen to make their content available to everyone. I also can find the official FriendFeed Page on Facebook and user groups related to FriendFeed.

Remember that you can always control what content you're sharing in other people's search results by editing your privacy settings here.

We hope that these improvements to Search will help you connect with and find information about the people and things you care about more easily. We're rolling these changes out over the course of the next few days, so you may not see the new results just yet.

Publishing to Twitter from Facebook Pages

Many people have asked us to make Facebook and Twitter work better together for those times when they want to share their content as widely as possible. We agree. Over the next few days, we will be releasing a feature that allows administrators of Facebook Pages to publish their Facebook updates to their Twitter accounts automatically. This will only link Facebook Pages to Twitter, not your individual profile.

Public figures, musicians, businesses and organizations of all types who've created Facebook Pages often want to share a status update, a photo or an event with as many of their supporters as possible. Celebrities may want to share personal news or charities may want to put out calls for help to both their Facebook fans and their Twitter followers, all at the same time.

If you manage a Facebook Page, you now will be able to decide whether to share updates with their Twitter followers, and you also will be able to control what type of updates to share: status updates, links, photos, notes, events or all of them. If you have multiple Pages, you will have the option to link each of those Pages to different Twitter accounts. This new feature will soon be available at http://www.facebook.com/twitter.

A number of celebrities and organizations on Facebook are already using this feature to publish the content on their Facebook Page to Twitter and reach a wider audience. They include Dane Cook, LIVESTRONG, The World Wildlife Fund, and the NBA, WNBA and D-League.

We are always looking to make it easy for you to use Facebook with your favorite websites and applications. Facebook Connect allows you to bring your Facebook profile with you across the Web. We recently worked with Yahoo to integrate your Facebook experience into Yahoo's new homepage; we've built our own Firefox and iPhone applications in-house; and we built tools to help you bring your content from YouTube, Hulu and other sites into your Facebook profile.

Twitter was a natural next step to link with Facebook Pages because it is a powerful tool for broadcasting short messages widely.

I was able to build this new feature from start to finish as a summer engineering intern. Next month I'll head back to school, but I'm excited to see my work here live on through all of the people who now will both share on Facebook and tweet on Twitter right from their Facebook Pages.

300 Million and On

As of today, Facebook now serves 300 million people across the world. It's a large number, but the way we think about this is that we're just getting started on our goal of connecting everyone.

Because we want to make it as easy and fast as possible for the world to connect, one of the things we think a lot about is how to make Facebook perform even faster and more efficiently as we grow. We face a lot of fun and important challenges that require rethinking the current systems for enabling information flow across the web.

The site we all use every day is built by a relatively small group of the smartest engineers and entrepreneurs who are solving substantial problems and each making a huge impact for the 300 million people using Facebook. In fact, the ratio of Facebook users to Facebook engineers makes it so that every engineer here is responsible for more than one million users. It's hard to have an impact like that anywhere else.

We're also succeeding at building Facebook in a sustainable way. Earlier this year, we said we expected to be cash flow positive sometime in 2010, and I'm pleased to share that we achieved this milestone last quarter. This is important to us because it sets Facebook up to be a strong independent service for the long term.

Over time, Facebook will continue to be as strong as all of the connections you make. We'll continue building new and better things to make connecting with the people you care about as easy and rewarding as possible. Mengganti Username Facebook yang Sudah Dibuat Sebelumnya

Pihak Facebook akhirnya melunak. Pasalnya, setelah sebelumnya mengumumkan bahwapenggantian username hanya boleh dilakukan dalam sekali saja, tapi sekarang pihak Facebook membolehkan kita untuk mengganti username lagi jika kita sebelumnya sudah mengganti username.

Jadi misalkan dulu username kita sudah diganti dengan nama misalnya,www.facebook.com/imut, bisa kita ganti lagi menjadi www.facebook.com/nggakimut.

Bagaimana cara menggantinya? Yuk kita ikuti tutorial berikut ini.

1. Klik Settings > Account Settings.

2. Di bagian Username, klik Change.

3. Sekarang Anda tinggal mengetikkan username baru Anda.

It seems it was only yesterday that we opened up a world of possibilities with BlackBerry App World�. We�re proud to announce the launch of BlackBerry App World 1.1!

BlackBerry App World 1.1 New Features

Where do my apps go when I install them?

Any app you install on your BlackBerry smartphone (from BlackBerry App World or anywhere else) is installed in flash memory. Each BlackBerry smartphone has a different amount of flash memory � and this is what determines how many apps each device can have installed. With the new archiving feature, you can store the app on the microSD� card and restore it when you want to use it.

What will happen to our current applications?

All the apps you�ve downloaded and purchased from BlackBerry App World are currently stored in your �My World� account. After upgrading to BlackBerry App World 1.1, you can still archive the app � it will just be quickly downloaded again and then stored on your microSD� card.

How to Archive Applications on your BlackBerry:

In �My World�, you now have the new menu option �Archive�.

When clicked, BlackBerry App World will uninstall the application from the device memory and store it on the microSD� card.

Some apps require a reboot � some don�t � it all depends on the app.

The icon for the app will still appear where ever you have it (default on 4.5 and below is the home screen, on 4.6 it is the Downloads directory).

The icon will have a green arrow in the bottom corner indicating it�s been archived.

You can click on the icon and you�ll be prompted to see if you want to restore the app.

You can also restore from inside BlackBerry App World.

We're also launching BlackBerry App World today in Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Portugal. I tried to justify that my team needed to travel to each country for launch - but management didn't agree with that. No one can blame us for trying. I'm personally excited for Ireland - now all my cousins back home have another reason to love their BlackBerry smartphones.

7 Alasan Kenapa Akun Facebook Diblokir

Seorang teman yang biasanya online tiap hari di Facebook, belakangan tidak pernah online sama sekali. Tiba-tiba saja di lain waktu, dia bercerita bahwa dia nggak pernah online di facebook karena akun facebook nya tidak bisa dibuka alias diblokir.

1. Menggunakan nama palsu atau nama suatu produk yang sudah dipatenkan.

5. Copy Paste

Jangan karena malas menulis, lalu Anda main copy paste saja. Kalau ini terjadi Anda akan dianggap sebagai spammer.

6. Poke Berlebihan

Kurangi dalam menggunakan fitur poke agar tidak berlebihan.

7. Tulisan tidak etis

Hindari menulis hal-hal yang berbau pelecehan, pornografi, sara dan sejenisnya.

How to delete your Facebook account ?

Apparently, the Facebook account deletion process is straightforward. All you need to do is simply, login to your Facebook account, then click Account and from the Deactivate section choose Deactivate.

That was easy, isn�t it? The only caveat is that Facebook won�t actually wipe out your account but just keep it inactive. Therefore if you want to permanently delete your account, you should manually do the following:

1. Delete your photo
2. Delete Comments and messages you wrote
3. Delete your friends from your friends list.
4. Leave all your networks and groups you have joined.
5. Delete all your photo albums.

If you want to reactivate your account, just login to Facebook with youremail and password. You�ll be then instructed on the procedure to follow in order to reactivate the account.
